City: Palatka Palatka, FL to Hold Second Reading of Ordinance Affecting Floodplain Management Program The Commission will consider an ordinance amending Chapter 38, Floods Regulations, to comply with most current FEMA approved/Building Companion/Floodplain Management Program. These modifications to Chapter 38 of the Municipal Code bring the City's regulations into agreement with the most current FEMA-approved, Building Code companion, floodplain management program. The changes are not substantive in nature, but are just housekeeping changes to the previous FEMA model ordinance, adopted by the City in 2013. The Building Official and Planning Director have reviewed the modifications and have no problems with them. It is important to stay current with FEMA floodplain management since it protects lives and saves citizens money in insurance premiums.
