City: Punta Gorda Punta Gorda, FL to hold discussion of options for Off-Premises Open House Signs The City Council will discuss options for off-premises open house signs. Discussion will be as to whether to let the ordinance sunset, or whether to extend the provisions for some additional time. In 2008, City Council adopted ordinances to allow off-premises open house signs due to the decline in the real estate market at that time. The ordinance was set to sunset two years from the date of adoption. In 2010, it was determined that the real estate market had not yet recovered, and the ordinance was extended until November, 2012.
