Hillsborough County, FL Approves Amendment to the Secondary Metals Recyclers Ordinance
The County Commission approved an amendment to the Hillsborough County Secondary Metals Recyclers Ordinance, which imposes mandatory requirements upon
secondary metals recyclers to electronically report all purchase transaction information to law enforcement.
The approval and implementation of the ordinance is anticipated to result in a minimal increase in enforcement
activities by the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, and any additional costs can be absorbed within
continuation level budgets.
Issue History
09/22/10 | The amendment was approved at the 4/21/10 meeting.
| 04/20/10 | The County Commission will hold a public hearing at the 4/21/10 meeting.
| 04/06/10 | At the 4/7/10 meeting, the County Commission will consider a request to schedule a public hearing for 4/21/10.
