Miramar, FL Adopts Ordinance Regarding the Use of Golf Carts On Local Roadways
The City Commission adopted Ordinance No. O1477 amending Chapter 20 of the City Code, Traffic and Motor Vehicles, by creating Article V, Operation of Golf Carts on Certain Roadways to permit the use of golf carts on certain local roadways within the City. The use of golf carts as an alternative means of travel in the City could ease traffic congestion, reduce gas consumption and result in a corresponding reduction in greenhouse emissions. This Ordinance authorizes the use of golf carts on a limited amount of streets within residential areas between sunrise and sunset. The limited amount of designated streets will serve to provide the City with further details on resident golf cart usage for potential future expansion of the permitted areas.
