Leon County, FL Adopts Ordinance Regarding Internet Cafe Regulations The County Commission adopted an Ordinance amending Chapter 11 Entitled "Licenses, Taxation and
Miscellaneous Business Regulations" of the Leon County Code of Laws by Enacting a New Article XXIII to
be entitled "Regulation of Simulated Gambling Devices." The County Commission has received a number of concerns or complaints to individual Commissioners over the past couple of months regarding the proliferation of the so-called "Internet Cafes" in Leon County and in the City of Tallahassee.

| | 06/09/11 | The County Commission will hold the first and only public hearing at the 6/14/11 meeting.
| | 05/26/11 | The public hearing is scheduled for 6/14/11. The issue was not discussed at the 5/24/11 meeting as previously planned.
| | 04/24/11 | At the 4/26/11 meeting, the County Commission will discuss whether to draft an ordinance to prohibit or whether to draft an ordinance to regulate simulated gaming facilities. A public hearing is tentatively scheduled for 5/24/11.
