Ft. Myers, FL to Hold Public Hearing of Ordinance Affecting the Commencement Date for Mandatory Recycling
The City Council adopted Ordinance No. 3502, amending the City Code, chapter 70, Solid Waste, and creating article IV. Mandatory Recycling of Residential, Commercial, Non-Profit Entity, Special Events, Multi-Family Solid Waste, Construction and Demolition. The City Council will now consider Ordinance No. 3526 amending the commencement date for mandatory recycling from 10/1/09 to 1/1/2010.

Issue History
10/15/09The City Council will hold a public hearing of Ordinance No. 3526 (regarding the commencement date) at the 10/19/09 meeting.
09/17/09At the 9/21/09 meeting, the City Council will consider an ordinance amending the commencement date for mandatory recycling from 10/1/09 to 1/1/2010.
08/27/09The ordinance was adopted at the 3/2/09 meeting, motion unanimously carried.
02/25/09The City Council will hold a public hearing and second reading at the 3/2/09 meeting.
01/27/09The City Council will consider a request to advertise the ordinance at the 2/2/09 meeting.
