| New Port Richey, FL to Consider Ordinance Updating 2027 Utility Fee Schedule |
| Ordinance No. 2026-2773 restates the City’s water, sewer, and reclaimed water rates, charges, and fees
in a single consolidated schedule. Sections 24-20, 24-21, 24-22, and 24-32 of the Code of Ordinances
each provide for an automatic four percent (4%) annual increase effective October 1. The attached
schedule applies that increase and, in addition, makes several structural corrections intended to better
align the City’s rate structure with market conditions, incentivize water conservation, and deliver utility
billing practices that support sustainable, equitable collection and distribution of utility revenues.
This ordinance is the second of three steps in a comprehensive review of the City’s utility regulations.
Ordinance No. 2026-2350, adopted July 21, 2026, transitioned utility accounts to a property owner-only
model, non-interest bearing treatment of deposits and sets rates and fees by Resolution of Council. To
ensure compliance with the City Charter, this ordinance establishes the FY 2026-27 rate and fee
schedule. A subsequent ordinance will review each section of Chapter 24 for concurrence with all
related agreements (the City’s Tampa Bay Water service agreement, applicable interlocal agreements,
the City’s customer service agreement) and the rate and fee schedule adopted herein. |
