Lake County, FL to Consider Ordinance Adding New Section Regarding Levy of a Gas Tax

The Commission will Recommend adoption and execution of an Ordinance: 1. To authorize the placement of the proposed levy of a 5-cent local option fuel tax pursuant to Section 336.025(1)(b), Florida Statutes, on the November 2026 General Election Ballot for voter consideration; and 2. To approve the ballot language; and 3. Of amending Lake County Code, Chapter 13, Article II, entitled Gas Taxes, to add a new section regarding the levy of a 5-cent local option fuel tax pursuant to Section 336.025(1)(b), Florida Statutes (2025), upon every gallon of motor fuel sold in the county if the measure is approved by the voters.
