Alachua, FL to Consider Resolution Amending Fees for Panning and Development

Section 2.1.2 of the City's Land Development Regulations (LDRs) authorizes the City Commission to approve by resolution a schedule of fees for applications, permits and other approves for development applications. The current schedule of fees has been in effect since August 2020 and was adopted by Resolution 20-13. The only fee amended at that time was the fee for voluntary annexation. The last comprehensive update to the schedule of fees occurred in May 2016. Staff has performed an extensive review of the City's application fees. This review included a comparison of the City's fees to peer communities to ensure the City remains competitive and comparable to these communities. In addition to this review, the substantive changes proposed to the schedule of fees establishing a fee for off-site tree mitigation and amending the fee structure for text amendments to the Comprehensive Plan and LDRs.
