Long Boat Key, FL to consider Resolution in relation to the Fiber Conduit Installation Project in Conjunction with FPL Sub-Aqueous Horizontal Directional Drill Project

The Town Commission will consider Resolution 2017-12 providing for waiver of procurement provisions to advance the Town’s ability to
connect dark fiber. The project would utilize the FPL contractor, permits, minimize overall costs including
contractor mobilization, maximize the efficiency of project completion, and expedite the Town’s future dark
fiber installation. Utilizing the FPL contractor and permit, the Town will minimize the time required to go
through a lengthy procurement process and accelerate project completion in coordination with the Town’s
utility undergrounding project.
