Lauderhill, FL to Hold Second Reading of Ordinance Regarding Lobbyist Registration Fees

The City Commission will consider ordinance no. 16o-11-153 amending the city of Lauderhill code of ordinances, chapter 2, administration; article ii, officers and employees; division 1, generally; section 2-24, lobbying activities; reinserting the provision regarding lobbyist registration fees. Ordinance 16O-09-148 was just recently passed on October 31, 2016 which deleted all of the City Code of Ordinances Section 2-24 to provide that all lobbyist activities shall be governed by State law7 and the amended Broward County Ethics Code. This amendment to the code inadvertently also deleted the provision which authorized the setting of the lobbyist registration fee via Resolution which is already in existence and which was intended to remain in existence. This Ordinance merely replacements the provision which was inadvertently deleted when the other sections of the code were removed.
