Miami, FL to hold First Reading of Ordinance to require that amendments to the City Code need to have a Commissioner as a Co-Sponsor

The City Commission will consider an ordinance amending chapter 2/article ii/section 2-33 of the code of the city of Miami, Florida, as amended ("city code"), entitled "administration/mayor and city commission/order of business and rules of procedure", amending subsection 2-33(c) to require that any amendment to the city code, or text amendment to the Miami 21 code, proposed by the city administration have a commissioner as a co-sponsor.

Lobbyists shall pay all registration fees ($525.00 annually, plus $105.00 for each principal represented and for each issue a lobbyist has been retained to lobby on behalf of any one principal), and specifically define the issue for which they are employed. The Clerk shall reject any statement which does not detail the issue for which the lobbyist has been employed. Each lobbyist, within 60 days after registering as a lobbyist, shall submit a certificate of completion of an ethics course provided by the Miami-Dade County Commission on Ethics & Public Trust or City of Miami.
