Miramar, FL to hold Public Hearing and Second Reading of Ordinance to eliminate Background Checks for new businesses as part of the Business Tax Receipt Application Process

The City Commission will consider Ordinance No. O1624 amending Chapter 11, Business Taxes, Permits and Business Regulations, of the Miramar Code of Ordinances by repealing Section 11-33 Interview and Investigation of Receipt Applicants; Duties; Fee to Defray Cost of Criminal History Form; Receipt Questionnaire Form, Section 11-34 Grounds for Denial, Section 11-35 Appeal from Denial of Receipt, and Section 11-36, Revocation of Receipt, to eliminate the processing of background checks for new businesses as part of the Business Tax receipt application process.

Issue History
01/26/16 The City Commission will hold a public hearing and second reading at the 1/27/16 meeting, 7:00 pm.
11/23/15 The City Commission will hold a first reading at the 11/23/15 meeting, 7:30 pm.
