Sarasota, FL to Consider Ordinance Making Amendments to the Zoning Code
The Commission will Hold Proposed Ordinance No. 26-5611, amending the Zoning Code (2002 edition), Article II, Definitions and Rules of Construction, to add nonmedical IV therapy, to clarify the distinction between medical spas and nonmedical spas, to change vehicle repair to motor vehicle repair; Article III, Decision Making and Administrative Bodies, to eliminate the requirement that the Building Official is required to be appointed by the City Manager; Article IV, Development Review Procedures, to update the technical deviation process, to provide for the Planning Director the ability to initiate zoning text amendments; Article V, Vested Rights and Non-Conformities, to clarify and reorganize provisions governing nonconforming zoning lots; Article VI, Zone Districts, to clarify that single-family homes require a drainage plan, to update the maximum permitted density in single-family zone districts, to clarify that developments designating only awning as the frontage type must apply awnings along a minimum of 50% of the building frontage on the primary street, to add mobile food trucks as a provisional use in Downtown Bayfront, to adjust the Urban Mixed-Use 3 (MU-3) Zone District regulations to clarify prohibited hours of operation; Article VII, Regulations of General Applicability, to clarify permitted fencing materials and revise fence standards in the waterfront setback, to update language in the accessory structures section, to clarify the applicability of private yard and fencing requirements for attached single-family homes, to codify platform lift conditions, to clarify that a public art contribution is not a fee and amend the disbursement of public art funds, and to modify parking for motor vehicle repair; for severability of the parts hereof, etc. (Title Only) (Application No. 26-ZTA-02, Applicant: City of Sarasota)
