Davie, FL to Consider Ordinance Affecting Canal ROW Maintenance
This Amendment of the Town of Davie’s Code of Ordinances to Chapter 6, Article II, Section 6-40 titled, “Maintenance of canal rights-of-way and easements,” is made with the intent to revise the minimum height clearance of overhanging branches from twelve (12) feet to fifteen (15) feet. By increasing the minimum height clearance of overhanging branches in the Town’s rights-of-way and easements, this amendment enhances access for maintenance and inspection, ensures unobstructed stormwater flow, supports flood prevention and emergency response and improves safety for personnel and equipment. The Town finds this proposed amendment necessary to ensure the public safety of its residents.
