Liberty County, FL to Consider Ordinance Governing Solar Energy Facilities
County Attorney Ken Hosford to present Ordinance No. 2026-04 and do the first reading of the proposed ordinance. The ordinance amends the Liberty County Land Development Code to establish regulations governing utility-scale solar energy facilities and battery energy storage systems, including standards for conditional use approval, buffering and setbacks, environmental protection, roadway impacts, emergency response, decommissioning, financial security, and Comprehensive Plan amendment thresholds.
